ADAD decentralizes activities commemorating International Day of Forests 

Praia, Mar 20 (Inforpress) – The Association for the Defense of the Environment and Development (ADAD) promotes today and Friday several activities, in a decentralized way, to commemorate International Day of Forests.

This information was forwarded to Inforpress by ADAD president Januário Nascimento, who said that the association has planned for this year a set of activities to celebrate the anniversary on some islands, but explained that the program includes a small number of people taking into account the current Covid-19 pandemic scenario.

For this Friday, the 20th, ADAD promotes, in partnership with the  Cesaltina Ramos High School in the city of Praia, a public debate on reducing the impact of infrastructure in coastal areas and will plant trees in the school yard.

According to Januário Nascimento, during the meeting will be held the ceremony for the award of the Environmental Journalism Prize and the signing of the cooperation agreement between ADAD and the Cesaltina Ramos High School.

Also according to the president of ADAD, the commemorative meeting will be marked by a debate on the challenges of journalistic coverage on environmental issues by Community Radios in São Nicolau.
