2026 World Cup: Kevin Pina, Telmo Arcanjo and Nuno da Costa referred to the medical department

Praia, June 25 (Inforpress) – Midfielders Kevin Pina and Telmo Arcanjo and forward Nuno da Costa are in the national team's medical department, and therefore were unable to train on Wednesday for Friday's game against Saudi Arabia.

According to information released by the Cape Verdean Football Federation (FCF), the three Cape Verdean internationals suffered a recurrence of injuries sustained in the match against Uruguay, which ended in a 2-2 draw, in the second round of Group H of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The team leaves Tampa, Florida today to travel to Texas with all the athletes in the delegation and will concentrate for the decisive game against Saudi Arabia, to be played at Houston Stadium, for the third round and which will determine Cabo Verde's future in its first appearance at the World Cup.

Currently, Cabo Verde are third in the group with two points, having drawn both their matches against Spain and Uruguay.
