Tarrafal, May 20 (Inforpress) – The Mayor of Tarrafal de Santiago said today he believes that because of the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus (COVID-19) the next months will be turned to domestic tourism.
“With this pandemic and this situation outside the country, I believe that the next months will be months for domestic tourism. And in this regard, Tarrafal has everything to gain by being a tourist attraction centre of excellence”, considered José Nunes Soares, speaking to Inforpress.
Asked if the municipality he runs already has the conditions created for domestic tourism, he said they will create them, taking into account that everything has been stopped for some time because of the COVID-19.
However, he recalled that the municipality in the countryside of Santiago has received investments in terms of tourism, referring to the construction of new hotels, the improvement of quality and the training of young people from Tarrafal at the School of Hospitality and Tourism of Cabo Verde (EHTCV) .
