Covid-19 / Santa Cruz: “Send hope, instead of panic” Campaign raises food baskets for the most needy

Pedra Badejo, Mar 24 (Inforpress) – The youth of Santa Cruz are promoting a solidarity campaign to collect food baskets as a way to support the “most needy” at this moment, which requires everyone to stay home because of the pandemic of Covid- 19.

Speaking to Inforpress, the promoter of the initiative, Anilton de Carvalho, explained that this initiative came about taking into account the contingency plan and many publications on social networks about forms of prevention such as social distancing and staying at home.

“Based on this, I observed that not everyone has the means to stay at home,” he said, arguing that in addition to raising people’s awareness, it is necessary to create basic conditions for citizens to stay at home.

The campaign is aimed at the elderly, since, in his opinion, they are the “most vulnerable” in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic scenario.

In this sense, we intend to contact the City Hall in order to have the data that indicate the most vulnerable people in the municipality.
