Mindelo, May 18 (Inforpress) – The Government has established some conditions for the repatriation of Cabo Verdean citizens who were stranded abroad with border closures due to the COVID-19, one of which will be the mandatory quarantine.
According to a Resolution published in the Official Gazette on Friday, the executive decided to consider the situation of some Cabo Verdeans, usually resident in Cabo Verde, who are in foreign countries, namely for professional, health or tourism reasons, being in this prevented from returning due to the ban on flights and sea connections, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On the other hand, according to the same source, it is considered the specific situation of students, who completed university or professional training and are also prevented from returning to Cabo Verde for the same reasons. In this way, certain conditions are established for them to return to the country, but “without jeopardizing their own health and of the community.
Among these, there is the obligation to carry out quarantine in a specific location indicated by the competent services and also mandatory clinical testing for COVID-19 screening at the “due time”. “Before the return trip, citizens must sign a commitment to accept the measures”, reads the document.
