COVID-19: Hospital waste is being analyzed by the body in charge for coordinates human, animal and environmental health – INSP

Praia, May 20 (Inforpress) – The president of the National Institute of Public Health (INSP), Maria da Luz Lima, revealed that hospital waste is being analyzed by the national body in charge for coordinates human, animal and environmental health.

At the usual press conference to assess the COVID-19 situation in the country, Maria da Luz Lima informed that the National Directorate for the Environment together with the National Water and Sanitation Agency are preparing specific guidelines for the management of hospital waste.

“At this moment, all the standards are being met in places where people are in isolation and in hospitals, and collections are made by a specific service with the support of the National Directorate for the Environment”, she clarified.

In this regard, the National Director of Health, Artur Correia, said that they continue to disinfect the homes of people confirmed positive to ensure “greater security”.
