COVID-19/Fogo: Three people in quarantine after contacts with Praia d’Aguada ship crew’s members

São Filipe, May 21 (Inforpress) – Three people were placed in mandatory quarantine in the early evening this Wednesday, 20th, in the village of Almada, five kilometers from the city of São Filipe, after contacts with Praia d’Aguada ship crew’s members.

The three people, two ship agents and a police officer, were on board Praia d’Aguada, which arrived at the port of Vale dos Cavaleiros on the morning of the same day, coming from Praia, with cargo only, because they contacted the crew, namely the captain, who according to information should have done a previous test before going to Fogo island, but it did not happen.

These people were not subjected to the rapid clinical test, because, as explained by a source from the São Francisco de Assis regional hospital, the rapid clinical test must take place at least seven days after the contacts, hence the sending of the samples to be carried out in the city of Praia.

The Praia d’Aguada ship arrived at the port of Vale dos Cavaleiros on the morning of Wednesday, 20th, and after disinfection began to operate, having unloaded part of the cargoes brought from Praia, namely containers, but later by indication from the Port Maritime Institute and São Filipe Health Department, operations were suspended.
