COVID-19: COC advises sports federations to readjust national plans

Praia, May 4 (Inforpress) – The Cabo Verdean Olympic Committee has alerted national federations to readjust the plans and dates of the national sport calendar, with background work, aiming at an alternative plan for Cabo Verdean sport, due the COVID-19 pandemic.

The president of COC considers this to be an essential initiative to overcome this situation, since the “carriage was a little stopped”, so Filomena Fortes encourages sportsmen to train at home during the quarantine period to prevent sport be so shaken by the crisis.

It alerts athletes to avoid leaving home in order to protect themselves to safeguard the health of all, so that in the future sports / competitive activities can be resumed, through regular training and competitions.

The COC leader made this comment to Rádio of Cabo Verde (RCV), having expressed her concern for the way she personally “sees this year as very complicated in terms of sports” to the country fulfilling everything it had planned, since at this time, some modalities would be advanced in national championships or in international competitions.
