Praia, May 10 (Inforpress) – The Cabo Verdean Embassy in Cabo Verde said on Thursday that the construction of the new diplomatic facilities in the Cabo Verdean capital will bring benefits the local economy, Cabo Verdeans and improve consular services.
The statement was issued as a result of some reactions forwarded on the social networks and in the media about the Cabo Verdean Government’s decision to authorize, for direct alienation, the land of the Várzea high school for the construction of the new US embassy in Cabo Verde.
The governments of the two countries, according to the document, reached a principle of agreement on the location and construction of a new general building, which will house the future facilities of the United States Embassy in the city of Praia.
“The United States Government recognizes its responsibilities regarding the provision of services to Cabo Verdean citizens and believes that this building will improve consular services and strengthen the lasting and positive relationship between our countries”, the document reads.
