Praia, Mar 14 (Inforpress)- Companies active in Cape Verde registered an increase of 2.6 % in 2021 and generated a turnover of approximately 248 million Escudos (CVE), representing an increase of 6. 6% compared to the year 2020.
According to data from the 2021 Annual Survey of Companies, released this Tuesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), this year, there were 11,404 active companies in Cabo Verde, registering an increase of 2.6% compared to 2020.
Active companies generated a turnover of approximately 248 million Escudos (CVE) in the same period, representing an increase of 6.6% compared to 2020.
“The turnover recorded increases in most islands, with the exception of the islands of Sal, Boavista and Maio”, indicated the data, which show that 68.1% of active companies were sole proprietorships or sole proprietorships. According to INE, around 67% of active companies in the country were concentrated in the sectors of commerce with 44.0%, accommodation and catering (16.7%) and manufacturing industry (9.8%).
