CNDHC “repudiates and is astonished” with the statements by PP president who considers the institution a “farce and lie”

Praia, Oct 2 (Inforpress) – The National Commission for Human Rights and Citizenship (CNDHC) “repudiates and is astonished” with the  president of the Popular Party (PP) statements that the institution is a “farce and a lie” and without any ethics in institutional relations.

On Sunday, 29, Amândio Vicente, speaking to the press at the end of another party weekly meeting, considered that the CNDHC is a great “farce” and “lie” and  has not been autonomous to solve the problems of human rights violations.

In a press release, the CNDHC considers that the statements made constitute a disrespect for the serious institution responsible, and in its action it has always been guided by the principles of independence and impartiality.

As evidence of this, it points out that, as part of its mandate for the protection and promotion of human rights, the institution has made several recommendations to the Government on specific human rights issues with a view to taking policy measures to ensure the better realization of human rights .
