Civil movement wants to reduce number of animals on the streets through the creation of a National Alliance

Praia, Oct 3 (Inforpress) – The Civil Responsible Community Movement (MCCR) wants to reduce the number of canine and feline population on the streets with “human actions”, creating a national alliance for the implementation of effective policies and the ethical management of animals in Cabo Verde.

This information was provided by MCCR head Maria Zsuzsanna Fortes in remarks to the press on the sidelines of the Forum for the creation of the National Alliance for the Ethical Management of Canine Populations, held in Praia.

The issue of animals on the streets, according to the same source constitutes “a big problem” in Cabo Verde, because there are too many animals on the public road. And to solve this problem, she regretted, the City Halls have adopted different animal slaughtering techniques, noting that the World Organization for Animal Health prohibits such actions.

That is why the MCCR, she said, in order to help solve the problem of animal movement in the streets, has decided, through International Alliance rules, in partnership with associations and communities to create a national alliance for ethical animal management in Cabo Verde.
