Praia, Sep 14 (Inforpress) – The president of the Superior Council of Chambers of Commerce, Jorge Maurício, defended on Tuesday the implementation of a new social security governance model with more participation of private sector.
Jorge Maurício, who was speaking during the press conference about the Social Concertation Council Meeting, held in the city of Praia, suggested a representation of social security chosen on “redefined bases” and profile previously defined by its own regulations, as it happens in the banking financial sector.
“That is, with this we would like to see the social security governance model in a more professional way, with effective representation of experienced people and with an appropriate profile to contribute effectively to better management, sustainable management also of social security in Cabo Verde”, he said.
During his speech, Jorge Maurício asked the competent bodies to appoint the president of the Economic and Social Council and the implementation of its bodies, as well as its functionality, arguing that it is, in fact, a “very important” body that can contribute “immensely” to economic and social development.
