Praia, November 28, 2022 (Inforpress) – Cape Verde and the Basque Country opened up “excellent” prospects for cooperation in the field of tourism, as well as in several other areas, as announced by the Minister of Tourism and Transport, Carlos Santos, on his return from the visit to that region.
In summary, an announcement from the Ministry of Tourism and Transport informed that Carlos Santos was accompanied on his visit, on the 21st and 22nd of the current month, by the Cape Verdean Ambassador in Spain, Manuel Ney Cardoso, and by the honorary consul of Cape Verde in Bilbao, Gonzalo Alvarez Urquijo.
According to the same source, of the meetings held with the local authorities, it was held with the President of the Basque Government, and its General Secretariat for External Action, the Mayor of Bilbao, and its councilwoman for the area of cooperation. In addition to maintaining contacts with the management of the Chamber of Commerce and with some businessmen interested in investing in Cape Verde.
“Especially with the President of the Government and with the Mayor of that city there are very good prospects for cooperation, particularly in the areas of tourism sustainability (environmental, economic and social)”, he indicated.
