Praia, Aug 11 (Inforpress) – The Government has instituted August 16 as Cabo Verdean Diplomacy Day, a date that marks Cabo Verde’s acceptance as a member of the UN to honor Cabo Verdean diplomacy and diplomats.
This information is contained in Resolution 80/2022 published in the Official Bulletin on Wednesday, the 10th this month.
With the institutionalization of this day, the Government stresses the importance of Cabo Verdean diplomacy, aligned with the values of peace, the rule of law, democracy, freedom, respect for human rights and multilateralism, in seeking joint solutions to the challenges of the global world.
“Thus, Cabo Verdean diplomacy must be up to the demanding challenges present in international relations, striving to be a useful and timely interlocutor for dialogue, tolerance and harmonious coexistence between nations in the global village, thus contributing to increase the country’s notoriety and promote the external image,” the document reads.
