Praia, September 16 (Inforpress) – A new tropical wave associated with a low pressure center is moving south of the archipelago and is expected to affect the weather over the next 24 to 48 hours, with rainfall and a temporary intensification of winds.
According to a statement from the National Institute of Meteorology and Geophysics (INMG), during the passage of this tropical wave, rain of varying intensity is expected, accompanied by winds blowing from the northeast, with speeds between 20 and 38 kilometers per hour (km/h)).
From the early hours of the morning and throughout the day on 17 September, forecasts indicate initially moderate rain, sometimes heavy, with the possibility of thunderstorms in the Sotavento islands, while in the Eastern Barlavento islands there is a possibility of drizzle or light rain, which may be moderate on the island of Boa Vista.
In the Western Barlavento Islands, the institute said there may be drizzle or light rain from this evening onwards.
